Launch of the new TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02 Black Dial 39 mm Watch Replica

Luxury Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has launched three new models in the Monaco collection, replica TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02 39 mm watch (ref. CBL2113), continuing a new chapter in the collection that began in 2019, a year that marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Monaco collection and is therefore celebrated with a series of special editions. The Calibre Heuer 02 movement is a strikingly personalized design. All three models are inspired by the iconic 1970s model, two of which are fitted with a specially redesigned, modern metal bracelet. History

The TAG Heuer black-dial Monaco has been the mainstay of the TAG Heuer Monaco copy collection since its relaunch, but those models were traditionally black dials with black registers and white or steel hands. The black-with-red colour scheme first appeared in 2009 with the Monaco Racing model. Know by collectors as the “Black McQueen”, the Monaco Racing was one of two Calibre 12 black dial Monaco Chronographs.

As you can see below, the new TAG Heuer Monaco Heuer 02 replica is a direct descendent of the Monaco Racing, albeit with a three-register layout and the updated dial design.

DIAL

The highlight of the new TAG Heuer model replica is the striking black sunburst dial. The opposite model has a brilliant blue sunburst dial and a red-white-blue color scheme reminiscent of the original Monaco timepiece from 1969. The new model features a stainless steel bracelet, a striking square counters at 3 and 9 o'clock, and a red central chronograph seconds hand. The black dial version is also available with a black leather strap.

The dial continues with the three register layout of the new copy TAG Heuer Heuer 02 collection, with running seconds at 6 o’clock with the crosshair pattern rather than a full white register.

CASE

The 39 mm diameter steel square case is polished and fine-brushed to give the watch a muted, understated color while remaining robust and scratch-resistant.

On the other side of the case, there are two chronograph pushers, the upper one for start/pause and the lower one for return to zero.

CASEBACK

Likewise, there are no changes at the rear of the watch, which sports a circular sapphire window, showing off the Heuer 02 movement. The shape mimics the original vintage Monaco, which featured a prominent circular section in the centre of the caseback, albeit without a sapphire crystal.

STEEL BRACELET

The steel bracelet is one of the features that make the new replica TAG Heuer Monaco 39mm collection stand out. It has been almost twenty years since the Monaco was last offered with a metal bracelet. This particular model was inspired by the H-shaped bracelet used in the Monaco in the early 1970s. The designers wanted to give the 2020 model a new character, and ultimately found inspiration in the collection of the Tag Heuer Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds. They redesigned the original steel bracelet to meet today's standards and to improve wearing comfort.
